Hybrid Hive: December 2025 Newsletter

Hybrid Team in Limerick
Looking back at 2025, we wanted to share the work that shaped the year and the impact it made for our clients. It has been a busy, rewarding year and we are grateful for every partnership, conversation and project along the way. Here’s a quick recap of the highlights and what’s ahead for 2026.

Security that clients could trust

A large part of our year focused on raising security standards across the organisations we support. We tightened controls, strengthened authentication, improved access and made systems significantly harder to compromise.

Clients saw:
• stronger protection for accounts and identities
• safer access to data on site and remote
• tighter and better aligned cloud environments
• fewer unnecessary alerts
• a clear drop in avoidable vulnerabilities

These improvements gave clients confidence that their systems could stand up to real threats, not just meet the minimum requirements on paper.

Staying ahead of active threats

Phishing and social engineering remained constant throughout 2025.

With proactive management, continuous monitoring, better alerting and fast response, many attempts were stopped long before they reached users.

This meant fewer interruptions, steadier days and far more stability for the teams we support.

It is something we will continue to prioritise.

Streamlining

A major focus this year was helping clients streamline their operations. When processes are clear and systems run smoothly, the whole organisation feels the difference. Work moves with fewer delays, teams stay focused and people get time back in their day.

Across IT, cybersecurity and operations, we helped clients:

  • reduce unnecessary admin
    • avoid delays caused by scattered or unreliable information
    • plan and schedule with more confidence
    • keep work moving consistently throughout the day

This work removed friction that often slows teams down and helped organisations operate with more clarity and ease.

Showing up when help is urgent

One moment that stayed with us this year was a call from a company we had never worked with before. They had fallen victim to a phishing attack and were understandably stressed and unsure where to turn.

We guided them through each step, put the right protections in place and stayed with them until everything was under control.

Most of the funds were recovered.

We were glad we could help. Moments like that remind us of the responsibility we have as technology experts and the difference calm and clear guidance can make.

Strengthening relationships with our clients

Our Client Appreciation Night at Thomond Park was a highlight of the year.
It gave us the chance to spend real time with clients, listen to what supports them best and understand where we can continue to improve.

Those conversations help shape how we show up for every client we work with.

Recognition we are proud of

This year Hybrid was shortlisted in three national categories at the Tech Excellence Awards:

  • Emerging Technology Innovation of the Year
  • Digital Consultancy of the Year
  • IT Professional of the Year

Being recognised in these areas meant a great deal to our team. It acknowledged the steady, practical work that goes into delivering technology success for our clients, strengthening security, reducing risk, improving clarity across systems and giving people more stable, predictable days across their organisation.

The nominations highlighted the commitment our engineers bring to every project and every conversation, and the care that goes into helping clients operate with confidence.

Where we are headed

Security will stay at the centre of everything we deliver.
Plans will stay clear and predictable.
Support will stay proactive, steady and practical.
And we will keep giving clients real guidance they can use straight away.

Most importantly, we will stay focused on what matters to you:
your systems, your processes and how smoothly your work can move every day to give you back your time.

A few simple tips for 2026

Here are three small things that can make a meaningful difference early in the new year:

  • Do a quick clean-up of old devices and accounts.

If a laptop or phone is no longer in use, or a former staff member still has an active login, remove it. Fewer unused devices and accounts mean fewer doors for attackers.

  • Take ten seconds before clicking anything that looks urgent.

Holiday scams spill into January. Delivery updates, “missed payments,” and fake login alerts catch people when they are busy. A short pause is enough to spot most phishing attempts.

  • Change shared account passwords that multiple people used this year.

Shared logins are one of the most common causes of security gaps. A fresh password in January helps prevent accidental access and reduces risk across the business.

Thank you for your trust this year. Supporting your teams and your business is something we take seriously, and we are proud to work alongside you.
