Why This Scorecard Exists

Confidence And Protection Often Tell Two Different Stories

Irish business owners feel well protected. The numbers behind that feeling show a gap worth closing before an attacker finds it first.

92%

of Irish businesses believe they are adequately protected against cyber attacks.

38%

This scorecard turns that feeling into evidence. It checks the same protections we manage for clients every day and shows you, in plain English, where your business stands today.

Questions Irish Business Owners Ask

What is a cybersecurity readiness assessment?

A cybersecurity readiness assessment checks how prepared your business is to prevent, spot and recover from a cyber attack. This scorecard covers 6 areas: identity, device and email protection, detection and response, people, resilience and governance. Each answer feeds an overall score out of 100 and a score for each area.

What is Microsoft Secure Score?

Microsoft Secure Score is a rating built into every Microsoft 365 tenant. It measures how many of Microsoft's recommended security settings you have switched on, and ranks each improvement by the risk it reduces. Reviewing it monthly gives you a simple, measurable way to track progress.

What is ITDR, and how does it differ from EDR?

EDR (endpoint detection and response) watches laptops, desktops and servers for suspicious behaviour such as ransomware. ITDR (identity threat detection and response) watches your user accounts, spotting stolen logins, impossible travel and suspicious inbox rules in Microsoft 365. Attackers target both, so strong protection covers both.

Does NIS2 apply to my business?

NIS2 is the EU cybersecurity directive that Ireland is bringing into law through the National Cyber Security Bill. It covers medium and large organisations in sectors including manufacturing, food production and distribution, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, transport and digital services. Suppliers to those organisations also feel its effect through contract requirements. Penalties for essential entities reach €10 million or 2% of global turnover.
